Self-Care Solo Date Night Ideas You’ll Be Excited to Try

Self-Care Solo Date Night Ideas You’ll Be Excited to Try

Self-Care Solo Date Night Ideas You'll Be Excited to Try

I’ve spent a lot of time alone lately and over the past few years. I’ve learned a few valuable things I want to share with you.

Being a solo mom and blogger means not only getting used to your own company but also learning how to enjoy it, and ultimately to love it.

Self-care has become a widely popular phrase, and while we all love a good self-care skin routine, I want to share the secret that true self-care goes beyond that.

The ideas I want to share go deeper and are about nurturing yourself on a soul level—getting to know your unique likes and dislikes, discovering new things about yourself, and learning how to fill your cup when you need it most.

I want you to celebrate yourself whenever you get the opportunity, so here’s to many self-care solo date nights

Self-Care Solo Date Night Ideas

1. Transform your bedroom into a cozy sensory haven.

Self-Care Solo Date Night Ideas You'll Be Excited to Try

You can indulge in an evening of transforming your room into a space where you can truly curl up and relax. Take your time browsing through pictures that inspire you. Add fairy lights, beautiful fabrics, cozy curtains, a rug that feels amazing under your feet, and even create a little corner for journaling

2. Go visit your dream town

I want you to go beyond just browsing your dream house for sale online. Grab a Starbucks and head to the town or area where you’d love to live. Find that house for sale that you’d love to buy, take a stroll down the street, and allow yourself to soak in the surroundings while fully imagining your life there. Visit the local café and treat yourself to a warm pastry. Remember, we attract what we feel.

3. Indulge into a self-discovery journey

We spend so much time thinking about others, like our partners, and worrying about what people think of us. But we mustn’t forget to focus on ourselves too and take the time to truly get to know who we are. Once you start, you’ll be amazed by what you discover. Find out what you love to do, what you love to listen to, and explore questions about yourself.

4. Mocktails & crafts

Think about a craft you love doing, but also challenge yourself to explore something new. Now, imagine indulging in that creativity while sipping your favorite mocktail—it elevates the entire experience! A refreshing mint-leaf mojito mocktail, for instance, not only adds to the enjoyment but also makes it feel even more rewarding. Plus, you can make them totally healthy, so it’s a treat for both your mind and body.

5. Revisit your childhood

Revisit your childhood by taking a moment to jot down the things you once loved to do. What activities made you lose track of time? What brought you joy before any outside influence shaped your choices? Dive back into those passions, and I guarantee you’ll reignite that spark of pure, unfiltered love for them.

6. Clear out therapy

Put on your favourite music that makes you feel amazing, and have a day or evening of finding everything you no longer want. Getting rid of excess stuff can benefit your mental health by making you feel calmer, happier, and more in control. You’ll also be able to make money by uploading onto vinted.

7. Healthy tasty desert challenge

Everyone loves discovering a new recipe, but I challenge you to try something that’s both delicious and nutritious. It’s the perfect way to treat your taste buds and fuel your body at the same time. Some ideas to inspire you can be found at sallysbakingaddiction.

8. Photography challenge

There’s something truly magical about visiting a beautiful place or sitting in a spot you love, just gazing out and soaking in the view. That’s why I’m giving you a fun challenge: next time, set up your camera to capture a beautiful picture of yourself in that setting. Keep it somewhere special as a reminder to revisit these soul-nourishing places more often. It’s a small way to hold on to those moments and let them inspire you again and again.

9. Explore a new style

Do you love browsing different styles of clothes, hair, makeup, or accessories but always stick to your comfy trousers and black shoes? For your next self-care date night, I challenge you to try something new. Tell yourself, “I’ll try it just this once,” and you might discover a style that inspires you to step outside your comfort zone more often—with pride. You never know, this small experiment could be the start of a more confident, adventurous you.

10. One off cleaning service

When you next get the chance, treat yourself to a professional cleaning service. Whether it’s a full valet for your car, a window cleaning for your home, a carpet clean, or a pressure wash on your patio, you can sit back while it’s all taken care of. The results will feel amazing—you deserve it.

11. Make a solo date night jar

Grab a jar from your cupboard and soak it in warm water to remove the label. Set the mood with your favorite fairy lights, cozy slippers, and make an evening of this self-care night. Take some time to think about activities you’d love to try, and get inspired by people you admire. Write down your ideas, even the ones that seem out of reach, and place them in the jar. The next time you’re planning a solo date night, pick one out and treat yourself to something new and exciting.

12. Charcuterie board and films

If you’re in the mood for a night on the sofa with your favorite comfort shows, make it extra special with a charcuterie board. Take some time to arrange your favorite foods, set it next to you, and you won’t even need to move for the whole evening.

13. Make a collage of your dream home

Do you think your dream home is out of reach? Think again. Anything possible in reality first existed in the mind, and if you want to dream it, you can create it. Spend an evening exploring your favorite color palettes, materials, home decor, and furniture. Arrange them on a beautiful vision board, giving you a stunning visual of your dream home to work toward.

14. Pamper your pet

If you have a pet, fully indulge them with an evening of pampering and make the most of your loyal friend. Use some lovely-smelling pet bath wash, snuggle them as you dry them off, enjoy a leisurely walk where you can be mindful and greet other pet owners, and treat them to their favorite treats. Loving others, whether human or animal, makes us feel great, and spending time with animals is so beneficial for us.

15. Go plant shopping

There is something relaxing and wholesome about visiting a garden center, and taking the time to care for a plant extends that feeling. Find a plant that you love and that matches your ability to care for it. Having a plant in your home will brighten your space and is good for you, too.

16. Thrifting & upcycling

I love thrifting and upcycling because they are both eco-friendly ways to refresh your style and environment. You can find unique, pre-loved items at secondhand stores, giving them a new lease on life while reducing waste. Upcycling takes it a step further by creatively transforming old or discarded items into something new and functional just for you. Together, these practices support sustainable living and offer a chance to express your individuality.

17. Lego

Did you know that LEGO can be a form of therapy? Like everything, it’s about exploring what works for you. The brilliant thing about LEGO is that you’re likely to find something that aligns with your interests. You can spend an evening building it and then proudly display your creation afterward.

18. Make a DIY pond in the garden

I always dreamed of having a pond in my garden but thought it was a huge job that would require hiring someone. That was until I created a DIY pond myself, and it was amazing. You can find a video on YouTube to guide you through the process, and it will attract all sorts of wonderful creatures to your garden that you can enjoy while sipping your evening drink.

19. Marketplace surprise

You don’t need to spend a lot of money on a solo date night to treat yourself. I love having those days when I browse through Facebook marketplace for a bargain treat, and then spend the whole day or evening enjoying it on my own.

20. Buy yourself a Christmas present and hide it

Isn’t this idea just genius? If you’re someone who feels guilty about treating yourself, this is a great beginner’s idea for you. Think of something special that you know you’ll be excited to receive. Wrap it up neatly and place it somewhere safe but visible. Then, open it as a gift to yourself on Christmas Day—it will feel like a perfectly chosen Christmas present that went 100% right.

21. Paint your own photo

How truly special is this? You upload a photo of yourself that you love, and it’s sent to you as a ‘paint by numbers’ design. You can spend an evening painting at your leisure, then display your wonderful creation somewhere special, like above your dressing table. This is a true celebration of you.

22. Make self-encouragement cards

Much like the solo date night idea jar, you can set the scene for a wonderful evening with lights and comfy slippers. Take your time enjoying your favorite quotes, affirmations, and self-encouragement words that will inspire, motivate, and fill you with self-love. Write these out and print them off and then you can either display them around your home or keep them tired in a pretty jar or decorated tub.

23. Follow your interests at local events

Following your interests at local events is a great way to spend time with yourself while connecting with new and like-minded people in your community. Time spent on what naturally inspires and spars your interest is valuable time well spent.

24. Repurpose a corner of your home

Do you wish you had more space for your favorite craft or hobby, or just a place to decorate for fun and pleasure? Repurpose a corner or nook in your home for this purpose. There are brilliant, space-saving ideas all over the web to inspire you, and you can enjoy making it look and feel cozy and uniquely you.

25. Go for a walk and compliment someone

This idea may sound simple, but you won’t fully appreciate the power of giving a compliment until you try it. It also gives you a reason for your walk—because, like me, you might find that while walks are good for you, they can be a bit boring alone. So next time, try giving compliments along the way, and remember that the love you put into the world will find its way back to you.
