Step-by-Step Vision Board Guide: Make a Vision Board With Me

7 Step-by-Step Vision Board Guide: Make a Vision Board With Me

This post is all about a step-by-step vision board guide.  This post contains affiliate links

There are so many brilliant resources on vision boards, and one of my favorites that helped me so much is Manifest by Roxie Nafousi. Another highly recommended read is Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires by Esther and Jerry Hicks, which is a powerful guide to understanding the art of manifestation and aligning with your desires.

What I want to do here today is walk you through the experience of creating a vision board that resonates with what matters to you on a deep level. This isn’t just about crafting the life you want—it’s about creating a life that will genuinely make you feel happy, fulfilled, and aligned in all areas.

Step-by-Step Vision Voard Guide

1. Gather our vision board materials

First, we need to decide how we want to create and display our vision board. You can check out my vision board ideas post, where I’ve shared some ways to display your vision board.

For today, I’m choosing to create mine on a large piece of card. To do this, I’ll need glue, scissors, and some pretty pens to bring my vision to life. So check how you want to make your vision board and get your supplies ready with me.

2.  Time to get cozy

This is where the fun truly begins! I’m going to create an environment that feels cozy and nurturing. I’ll put on my comfiest clothes and make sure I have some quiet time to myself. I’ll also ensure the room where I’m creating my vision board is tidy and clear, creating the perfect space to manifest. So i encourage you to think about what makes you feel cozy and create the perfect scene.

Next, I’ll light a candle and make a big cup of my favorite drink in my favorite mug. And, of course, I’ll have my favorite healthy snacks nearby too. So I encourage you to think about what makes you feel cozy and create the perfect scene for you!

3. Connect with our worth

I believe that the most important part of manifesting is to know we are worthy of what we desire. And the most powerful vision boards come from a place of raw, authentic truth.

For me, this means letting go of what we think we should want or what others expect from us, and instead tuning into what genuinely sparks passion and happiness. When creating your vision board, focus on what you want to attract into your life, not on what you don’t.

In my vision board ideas post, I shared many questions, but for this one, I’m going to be asking myself a few key ones. I encourage you to try reflecting on these questions too:

If I were writing a fiction book about my life, where would I take myself?

When I picture myself surrounded by loved ones celebrating me, what have I accomplished that brings us all together?

How do I want the people in my life to make me feel?

How do I want to make the people around me feel?

What do I want my day-to-day life to feel like? (calm, excited, fulfilled, etc.)

If I imagine myself standing up to speak about something important and everyone is listening, what is the topic or subject I’m sharing?

What experiences do I deeply desire to have?

What do I often find myself daydreaming about?

What do I wish others truly understood about me?

Who inspires me, and what qualities or actions in them deeply move me?

What characteristics in specific people do I feel most drawn to and why?

What was I doing the last time I felt completely immersed, lost in time, and at peace, without feeling rushed?

5. Get specific

Now is the time to get really particular. Yes, this is a total safe space to be picky! When imagining what we want to bring into our lives, being specific is so much more powerful than being vague. For example, instead of saying, “I want to live in a big house,” I’ll envision the exact type of house: where it’s located, the layout, how it feels to live there, and the little details that make it home.

The same goes for love. Instead of simply thinking, “I want a relationship,” it’s more effective to focus on how I want that relationship to make me feel, the values we’ll share, and the connection we’ll build together.

Manifestation is about feeling as though these things are already part of your life, allowing that energy to guide your actions and choices. With that in mind, here are some personal things I’d love to share with you:

Relationships:

I feel supported by the people around me

The people around me feel loved and cherished by me

I am accepted as my authentic self

Love:

I am in a relationship that feels safe, consistent, and happy

My partner and I are free to be our true selves with each other

Our relationship is full of humor, warmth, and connection

Career and business:

My website connects deeply with people and inspires them

I create an excellent user experience for everyone who visits my site

I collaborate with business owners I admire, creating meaningful partnerships

Wellness:

I enjoy  learning and cooking nutrient-rich, easy recipes

I swim with my children and take relaxing walks with my dogs regularly

Personal:

I continuously grow as a writer and explore new creative possibilities

Home:

I live in a cozy cottage by the sea, surrounded by natural beauty

I grow my own vegetables and fruit, enjoying the process and harvest

Hobbies:

I read books that inspire and enhance my life

I have the time and space to craft and create with joy

Community:

I contribute to making schools emotionally safe and nurturing spaces for all children

Remember, it’s your choice whether to add a time frame to your vision board. For this one, I’m skipping a time frame and focusing on the general vibe of what I’d like to attract.

4. Collect our visuals

Now the fun part about this is to get really creative. We can collect things to do on our vision board from absolutely anywhere, and I mean anywhere! If you like something, use it.

If something inspires you, take it. If something makes you feel connected to yourself, include it. If something reminds you of the vision you hold in your mind, it is calling to be on your vision board! Here are some things I am going to be adding:

Quotes from Celebrities I Admire

Quotes That Resonate With Me

Pictures of how i want to feel

Photographs of Places I’m Drawn To

Fabrics and Textures Representing the Home I Desire

Personal Keepsakes Symbolizing Important Relationships

Natural Elements Reflecting How I Want to Spend My Time

Goals I Aspire to Achieve

Pictures, Colors, and Words Depicting How I Want to Feel

Symbols, Like Star Signs, for Meaning and Connection

Hand-drawn pictures of Things I Want, Like Healthy Food

5. Create our vision board

Now we have our stuff, we can put it all together, i like to lay it out on the page to create the look and feel before sticking it all down. I personally like to display my vision board on the wall so I make sure the way it looks makes me feel good and inspired every time I look at it.

6. Be proud of ourselves

Now we can take a moment to feel proud of creating our amazing vision board! although this is designed to be an enjoyable task, it still takes dedication to set time aside and to prepare and put it together, so I am really proud of you for achieving that! the more we feel proud of ourselves and our accomplishments, the more of this we will welcome into our lives!

7. Be securely attached to our vision

This step is about creating a secure attachment to your vision board, dreams, and manifestations. It means trusting that they are already yours and feeling deeply secure in the belief that what you desire is on its way.

Just like being securely attached in any other area of life—whether in a relationship, with a goal, or with yourself—you don’t cling or worry. You don’t question your worthiness because you know, without a doubt, that you are enough.

The art of manifestation lies in allowing yourself to feel good, grateful, and aligned with your dreams, without trying to control or force the process. This sense of security lets you release the ‘how’ and the ‘when,’ trusting that those details are not yours to manage.

All you need to focus on is visualizing how you feel when you imagine your dreams and desires as if they are already yours. Trust that everything will flow naturally as you instinctively take steps closer to your goals.

It’s about enjoying the journey, embracing gratitude, and feeling at peace with the knowledge that everything is unfolding perfectly in its own time.

Remember, you belong with your deepest and truest desires, so allow your path to take you there.
